Nottingham Forest are closing in on another statement signing, with Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande reportedly set to join the Reds in a deal worth around $35 million, including bonuses and add-ons. At just 21 years old, the Ivorian centre-back is regarded as one of Europe's brightest defensive prospects and could become a cornerstone of Oliver Glasner's new-look back three.
Standing at over six feet tall, Diomande possesses the physical profile to thrive in the Premier League. Strong in the tackle, dominant in aerial duels and blessed with impressive pace, he has the athleticism to defend large spaces while remaining composed under pressure. One of his standout qualities is his recovery speed, allowing him to recover dangerous situations and nullify counter-attacks before they develop.
However, Diomande offers far more than just defensive security.
